Daniel's Christening

My apologies for lack of updates for a while...Alex was ill last Thursday and Friday and then he and I went to London over the weekend. Alex has been off his food, not sleeping well, had a high temperature and been generally a lot more moody than normal, so as you can imagine I was a bit nervous about going down to London with him by myself (Tim wasn’t well enough to come). However, while we were in London he behaved like a star (although he only ate fruit puree and toast!). It was so lovely to stay with my brother and his family as we don’t get to meet as often as I would like. Both boys loved playing together and playing with Andy who kept them highly amused.
We had a fantastic dinner party on Saturday night with several of their friends coming over. I spent the whole evening being teased by Andy and one of his best friends who I have known for over 20 years. It was so much fun, and the food was delicious too.
Alex sat on his Grandma's knee showing the order of service to Great-Gran.

Sunday morning saw us all up bright and early and getting to the church for the Christening service at 10am. Daniel behaved beautifully with only a very small squeak of protest at being thoroughly soaked three times...the curate was very liberal with the water! It was a lovely service with a mixture of modern and traditional hymns and it was lovely to see my family there.
Daniel receiving the sign of The Cross...
...and then getting a thorough soaking!Daniel, his parents and God-parents after his soaking...love the spikey hair.

After church we all headed back to Andy and Nel’s for sandwiches and cake. The weather was kind and everyone enjoyed being out in the garden, especially all the kids who were running round having a wonderful time. It was such a special occasion and so lovely to see everyone having such a lovely time and to catch up with family and friends. Cutting the cake - Daniel looks rather pleased at being able to hold a large knife!

All the kids playing happily together on the decking.
Alex sharing an intimate moment with his Great-Gran (and teddy)
My turn for a cuddle!Alex and Daniel looking like two wise old men together!

I did manage to do a little crafting before I went, including making Daniels Christening card which was this very cute decoupage teddy. As usual I would love to know what you think. More soon,
Love,
Caro

Glad Daniel was well enough to go and what a lovely collection of photographs for your album - this is a whole album on its own by the looks of it.

Beautiful card, I love the teddy with the symbols on.
