Well I am exhausted having just got back from Somerset where I went to the wedding of my bridesmaid. Alex and I travelled down on Friday to stay with my parents and were thoroughly spoilt. Sadly the weather wasn't great but we did take Alex up to the new village playground where he had great fun on the swings with Grandma and going down the slide with me. 
On Saturday we had a gentle morning playing round the house and I just love this photo of Grandpa loading the dishwasher while Alex promptly emptied it!
Susie and Peter's wedding was in the afternoon and was beautifully traditional. It made such a refreshing change from all these pompous pretentious weddings you see nowadays to have a beautiful church ceremony with traditional hymns, a beautifully radiant bride arriving in a horse and cart with a simple flower band and veil in her hair. The service was followed by pims in the village hall, a sit down dinner in the adjacent marquee and finished off with a traditional barn dance complete with a live band. The flowers and decorations were all made by family and local friends and everything was so wonderfully, refreshingly beautiful and special. Sadly the weather was not kind...it was blowing an absolute gale and pouring down with rain, but this didn't detract from the day at all, although I felt sorry for them not being able to have all their photos outside.

I have to say that the wedding speeches were the best I have ever heard, very entertaining while remaining full of warmth. The cutting of the cake followed immediately afterwards

Everyone joining in the barn dance. As you can see it was a wonderful occasion and Alex behaved beautifully even though he refused to sleep at all! He finally fell asleep 5 minutes away from my parents house.
Since coming back home to Sheffield I have done a little crafting in the form of these inchies made using the batik technique and some inchie stamps from Tanda Crafts. I like the autumnal feel of these ones.
I also made these three ATCs with the same technique using purple Onion stamps, butterscotch and terracotta colour wash inks and topped off with angel kiss flowers and brads. These will be available for swapping when I get organised!
Finally I made these three Mr Men ATCs for a cartoon theme swap organised by Margaret. I found the images on wrapping paper and coloured in the background. It is back to work for me tomorrow so more when I can.Love,

Lovely, lovely photos - especially the one of the bride with her dad.
Great to see the day went well despite the weather and that there was genuine warmth and a good feeling to the whole day, may they be blessed thus for the rest of the marriage.
You fitted in some craft work too!
